Gravity of Form and Grains of Transformation Artist’s statement by Krystyna Vinogorodska About the Artist Kristina Vinogorodskaya is a visual artist working at the intersection of image and inner experience. She graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture and has participated in international exhibitions and competitions across Europe, Asia, the USA, and the Middle East. Her paintings are known for their atmospheric stillness, inner gravity, and philosophical depth. Rather than illustrate — they shift perception. Rather than explain — they resonate. Gravity as Connection Gravity is not just physics. It’s a way of being bound to what remains — even after it disappears. A force that holds us quietly in orbit: around love, memory, pain, loss, tenderness. Some events carry their own mass. They don’t have to be loud — but they bend the geometry of our inner space. We move around them for years. Sometimes, for a lifetime. Art as Distortion, Not Representation I see art not as a reflection, but as distortion — a subtle shift in perception that allows something deeper to surface. Sometimes, one texture or one color can shift the direction of a whole narrative. Not by explaining — but by creating a pause. A question. A weight. The Hourglass and the Space Between What fascinates me is the moment before form. The top half of an hourglass — where the sand hasn’t yet begun to fall, but time has already started. This is the place where thought hasn’t taken shape, but already presses from within. Where a choice is felt, but not made. Where the body is ready, but the mind still holds back. That tension — that almost — is where I find meaning. Painting as Breathing Before Form My works are attempts to remain in that pause. To hold the invisible moment before something becomes real. To listen for what’s not yet visible: a breath before the word, a tremble before the touch, a silence before decision. This is where true images are born — not fast, not decorative, but dense with inner gravity. The kind that stays with you. Time Measured by Inner Shifts I don’t count time by dates. I count it by shifts. By the moment when something inside turns — quietly, irreversibly. If one of my works can create such a shift in someone — then it has done its work. Before the Grain Falls If you are reading this, and find yourself in that silent upper chamber — before the grain drops, before the motion starts — perhaps something in you is ready to take form. Pause. Breathe. That might be the beginning.
