Close your eyes and look
  • Once upon a time there was a little lantern that never lit. It stood at the edge of the forest and dreamed of lighting the world, but it didn't know how.
Every night, travelers passed by: some hurrying home, others seeking the path to the stars. They noticed the lantern, but it remained dark, as if guarding the secret of its light.
One day, a little girl approached him. She didn't ask why the lantern wasn't glowing. She sat down next to him and quietly said, "The light doesn't live in me or you. It lives where someone believes in miracles."
And then the lantern suddenly felt warmth. He wondered: "Perhaps the light was within me all this time?" And from that moment on, the little lantern shone with a soft, gentle light.
From then on, the forest was no longer dark, because the lantern understood the main thing: sometimes light is needed only to make someone believe in a miracle.
And everyone who passed by smiled, not noticing that their smile was another ray.

Next story is at midnight next Thursday.
