We are stuck. This is how Caroline begins, not with a metaphor, not with a quote, but with a diagnosis. Her generation is stuck between new technologies and old worlds, in the half-life of global ideals and in an unfinished war for its own identity. Everything has accelerated, but nothing has had time to mature. Everything has become closer — and has lost depth.

"We are caught between the new and the old – and forced to survive in this gap between times. On the one hand, technologies that outpace our ability to comprehend them. On the other, inherited conflicts that are only getting worse. The world has not become united, it has become hostile because of division," says Carolina.

Time for alarm and a new device

Carolina feels that the world is already being rebuilt - according to some laws that are still not clear. She does not call it a revolution, does not succumb to the pathos of "changes". She speaks of it as a deep tectonic change in the world order.

"What seems like chaos is actually labor pains. The world order is changing. But for now, there is a lot of pain, alienation, hostility. Especially between people who have lost their common language."

She does not speak detachedly - there is participation in this voice. She defines herself as a participant and a witness, without choosing between them. To be in the flow, but to remember that you are not just a part, but an eye, a heart, a mind that records.

Internal search

"For many years, one question has haunted me - is it possible to grow steadily without destroying yourself? Especially in the material sphere. Is there a way to combine honesty with success? Or is one necessarily sacrificed?"

Carolina is not afraid to admit that she is looking not so much for meaning as for integrity. For her, truth is not intuition or emotion. It is a fact that a person must reach sooner or later. Otherwise, he builds everything on the shaky.

"I believe in facts. In factual truth. Even if it's unpleasant. Especially if it's unpleasant."

Scene Stuck Inside

For her, the symbol of the era is not an abstraction, but a concrete scene.

"The film "Peaceful Warrior" - when the hero jumps and can't land. And in life - a war in your hometown. And you are in it, not by choice. These two scenes, one from art, the other from reality - merged for me. As the impossibility of either jumping or running away."

About forgotten questions

Carolina says that she increasingly thinks about topics that most people don't think about. About the fate of people. Not in a philosophical sense, but in a literal sense: about how a person goes through his life, and what happens to him.

"There are topics that have become devalued. People, their destinies have become content. But behind each of them there is a life. And it seems that no one listens to this anymore - but I want to listen."
